John Green

Posted by * * on Tuesday, September 4, 2012,
John Green is an American author who has a vlog with his brother, Hank. Im in love with everything he says, and all his ideas. He is brilliant. I dont think one of his books has not made me cry. He has written Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns, and each one of them does not fail to make me think long and hard. This quote describes this so perfectly.

This began as an attempt to tell a story...

Posted by * * on Friday, August 17, 2012,
The story of Renee never ceases to break my heart, never ceases to inspire me. To Write Love On Her Arms is a not for profit charity raising awareness on teen depression. In year 8, three other girls and I stood in front of our school's teaching faculty, about 80+ teachers. They didnt really care what we had to say, until one of the P.E teachers came up to me and said what a great job we did getting our message across. We tried to get them to realise we are not alone, that we are important.

Hello Internet

Posted by * * on Friday, August 10, 2012,
There are few things I haven't mentioned on this site, like for starters, who the hell am i? I mean, am I some 40 year old male impersonating a 17 year old girl? No. Yes, I am aware thats what the 40 year old male would say. Am I a 17 year old girl impersonating a 40 year old man? You bet I am!
Of course, I'm kidding.
I know I've left this a bit late, but hello! My name is Claudia. I am a teenage girl, I promise! I write when I get sad or angry or just cant find the right words to say, and if ...

There are two things I dont talk about with people; religion and politics

Posted by * * on Friday, August 10, 2012,
Oops...make that one thing I dont talk about with people. So, Religion. I believe there is a God, and that all religions are just a different side or view of that one Higher Power. That doesnt mean I agree with every detail of every religion. There are some occasions where I laugh, because what is being said to me just cant be right.
Anyway, this comes from a discussion with one of my friends. (Let's call her Mary?) Anyway, Mary has been trying to convince me to come to church with her for the...

Mish Mash

Posted by * * on Tuesday, July 24, 2012,
Im actually so glad school is back. The holidays were so incredibly lonely for me. Things happened before the holidays that led to awkwardness during the holidays. A few of my friends went away and whenever I tried to organise something the ones that were here were too busy for me. Im pretty sure there were days I didnt speak, which is saying something. I tuned out, stayed in my head and went into zombie mode. Thats always fun. Things are always better during school. You dont have to organise...

Cute things

Posted by * * on Saturday, July 21, 2012,
So, on Thursday night while I was at work, a guy came up to me needing help finding a maternity skirt for his wife. He was so happy that he couldnt stop smiling. He said to me that he'd just come back from the ultrasound with his wife. He said he saw his little boy or girl's heart beat and that he couldnt wait to be a father. He told me he wasnt scared anymore. I then spoke to his wife, and the two couldnt stop smiling at each other. It was exactly like what young love is meant to be.

The seco...

Katniss: The Girl on Fire

Posted by * * on Saturday, July 7, 2012,
I don't know if you'll understand what I'm taking about, but hopefully you do. You know in that moment where someone is so terrifying, that you're awestruck or they're so crazy that they're beautiful? I want to be the so crazy that I am beautiful. I guess that doesn't really make sense, right?
Okay. So, we know fires are dangerous. I mean, they've burnt entire cities to the ground and left nothing but ash in it's wake but, watch the way the flames dance. Its entrancing. I'm not sure if that's...

"The Day the World Stopped"

Posted by * * on Tuesday, June 26, 2012,
Tonight, my friend linked me this blog. It is the saddest thing I have ever read in my life. It's a personal account of a woman who lost her child. It's absolutely heartbreaking, and I will admit I did cry when I read it.
Basically, this is my worst fear, and my heart goes out to anyone who experiences a miscarriage or stillbirth.

the perks of being a wallflower

Posted by * * on Wednesday, June 20, 2012,
The Perks of Being a Wallflower has finally become a movie. The Perks of Being a Wallflower was written by Stephen Chbosky and is about introverted freshman "Charlie" and the awkward and messed up experiences throughout high school, Charlie also has a bad mental state caused by childhood traumas and how he is saved by the misfit seniors. The book is something that every teenager who is lost should read. It is my bible, and I cant remember a time before reading it.
I like the concept of a wall...

Quick Update

Posted by * * on Tuesday, June 19, 2012,
So, I've been trying to write an angry post about the injustice of the world, but I simply can't. Han would say because I am "in love", but we all know she is delusional. In my own words, everything is going my way at the moment. I haven't fought with any of my friends and family, I have felt confident in everything I do and I couldnt even care about being nervous or awkward.
I apologize for my lack of posts, it shall be fixed.

The Flea

Posted by * * on Wednesday, June 13, 2012,
In English, we're studying the poem "The Flea" by John Donne The poem is all about how Donne is trying to convince this girl to give him her virginity, with no strings attached. This made me realize that sex and love, and my opinions and views on them, are one of the few topics I had't touched on in this blog.
 So, here goes.
I think that sex is special. Yeah, laugh it up but that's what I think. I think its an act of love between two people. I personally believe a sexual relationship should b...

Drowning

Posted by * * on Sunday, June 3, 2012,
I used to love feeling out of my depth, especially when I talked to someone and they spoke with such sophistication and knowledge and I tried to keep up but it was almost impossible for me to do. Now, I hate it. Its all I feel. In my school work and with my friends. It's terrifying. At school, everyone gives such intelligent answers, or are so organised and on top of their study and assessments. Everyone is chugging along smoothly, and I'm broken down somewhere. They're all so darn intelligen...

Road Trip

Posted by * * on Wednesday, May 30, 2012,
A few of my friends and I are planning a Road Trip. A week after we finish the HSC, we're packing up and driving down to Melbourne, stopping where ever and whenever. Then, we shall head back in time for Christmas and Noi's 18th. We shall leave after and drive all the way up to the north of Queensland.
It so exciting to plan. It's the absolute epitome of greatness and celebration

Sexism

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Monday, May 21, 2012,
Sexism is something that really annoys me. Now, I wouldn't go so far to say that I am a feminist, because I have no clue of the extent of the definition and it would be wrong for me to label myself and not know the depth of it. Anyway, there are some people that just don't get that women have been fighting for years just to get equal voting rights. There are still equal pay and other things to follow, so it bugs me when men and women (yes, women to as they downgrade themselves to the point wh...

Multiplication

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Sunday, May 20, 2012,

Today, on the way home from the city, my friend and I were talking on the train about how people change their personality to suit their company. I’d like to tell you how we got on to that topic, but I really can’t remember. Anyway, we started saying how, around certain people, we change our personalities completely. We dumb down how we speak, or we speak really sophisticated. We act all flirty, or like a nun. We act sarcastic, or really sincere.

I was glad we had that conversation, as I ...

Substance

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Friday, May 18, 2012,
So, I happen to be a fan of "substance over beauty and beauty within" and so this affects my taste in the opposite sex. See, some people I associate with don't understand this. They'd rather date attractive meat heads. Not that I'm saying that you have to be one or the other, just that they base choosing their companions on a physical situations.
That is not me.
I am in love with the mind. I'd rather have a stimulating conversation, or heated argument or actually be interested in what the boy i...

MUNA

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Friday, May 18, 2012,
On the weekend, 25 different schools competed in MUNA. MUNA is a mock United Nations thing, run by the Rotary. My school went, and we were given the unfortunate position of China. We got attacked a fair bit, but it was a great day. We got to dress up and make friends and argue, which, in my opinion are three great things.
There was one point where Russia quoted Mean Girls. The whole arena erupted into applause. It was amazing.
We may not have won, but some of the other schools have been partici...

Video Killed the Radio Star

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Friday, May 18, 2012,
On Tuesday afternoons, I go to TAFE to do a media journalism course. I really enjoy it. We've always kind of been linked to the radio class as well, but we had never been in the studio or anything like that. Yesterday, their teacher was away so they combined with our class. For the second half of the lesson, we went into the radio studios and they quickly taught us the basics before we went on air.
I really enjoyed it. I'd never done anything like that before, and especially for me being as aw...

Barbie and Ken

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Friday, May 18, 2012,
People always say, "It doesn't matter what you look like, it's what's on the inside that counts."
Excuse me, but what a load of rubbish!
Everything is based on what you look like! What section of a shop you work in, how boys react to you, how people treat you. It's all about the model look. Trying to be thin. Trying to be the rumoured goddess. Trying to be barbie.
Look, I'm not 5'10, blonde, skinny with a large arse and breasts, and I know I could improve the ways I look. I know I could lose a f...

The Drunks are Your Friends

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Friday, May 18, 2012,
Even the police and PDHPE teachers know they cant tell teenagers not to drink, they can only them of the risks and educate them in the best possible way to handle the situation. However, I still think that is not enough. That is stupid. They should try to scare us so bad, that we wont dare to attempt the "underage party scene."
When we were 15/16, we got invited to our friend's 18th. Since that day, I found I was surrounded by  people who were heavily into the party scene.
They were sneaking ...

Let's Escape

Posted by Claudia Claudia on Friday, May 18, 2012,
Travel is a method of escape, and, boy, do I want to run. The term fernweh is German, and means "being homesick for a place you have never been."
The phrase sums up my existence.
In 2011, I went on a school trip to France (I am from Australia) and the experience blew me away. This country was centuries, maybe even a millennium older then the country I am from. It made everything I'd grown up being surrounded by,
places like Hyde Park and Circular Quay, which I'd thought to be the epitome of gr...
